The Meeting of Stanley and Livingstone
Date: 27 Oct 1871
Caption: Livingstone spent the last six years of his life attempting to locate the sources of the Nile, centering his efforts on Lake Tanganyika. He was in Ujiji, with supplies and his spirits running low, when Stanley found him in late 1871. After visiting the northern end of Lake Tanganyika together, Livingstone's passion to locate the source of the Nile was reignited. As a result, Stanley's aim to convince Livingstone to return to Britain failed. This image was taken from:- "The life and explorations of Dr. Livingstone" by John S.
