Caption: No. 1192 of a Vanity Fair series dating from c.1910 entitled 'Men of the Day'. The print is signed 'KITE' and is reproduced by the Hentschel-Colourtype process. The accompanying text includes a description of him as follows: 'In appearance, Mr. Shackleton is strudy, handsome, and what we are pleased to call "English-looking"; but there is a suggestion of the Yankee both in his voice and in his character. He is fully convinced of his own value, both comercially and imperially, and expresses a strong admiration for our House of Commons.'
