The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) are pleased to announce that we are the new licensing agent for Edward Stanford Ltd. Established in 1853 by their founder, Edward Stanford, Stanford's have a long and storied history as a map maker, publisher and retailer. Edward Stanford was a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and both have shared a close relationship ever since.

The RGS-IBG houses an archive of over 800 Stanford's maps from 1853 onwards. The collection contains maps, in Stanford's unique style, of almost every part of the globe and features World maps, City Maps, Tourist maps, Steamer Routes, Maps of Scientific Discovery and Exploration as well huge and incredibly detailed Wall maps.

These maps are all now available for licensing through the Society, on Stanford's behalf, and you can view a small sample of our Stanford's collection here on our website.

We will be regularly adding more scanned maps to our website but, as our Stanford's map collection is so extensive, we will also be offering a scanning to order service for any of the maps in this collection. So if you have a specific brief to fulfil challenge us to find the right map for you.
